How To Set X And Y Axis In Excel 2010

When charting values, Excel 2010 isn't always conscientious how it formats the values that appear on the y-axis (or the x-axis when using some chart types). If you're not happy with the way the values appear on either the x-centrality or y-axis, you can easily alter the formatting.

Select the axis values you want to format.

Click the 10-axis or y-axis directly in the nautical chart or click the Chart Elements button (in the Current Pick group of the Format tab) and so click Horizontal (Category) Axis (for the ten-axis) or Vertical (Value) Axis (for the y-axis) on its drop-downwards listing. Be sure to select the axis values, non the centrality title. Excel surrounds the axis you select with selection handles.

On the Chart Tools Format tab, click the Format Selection push in the Electric current Option group.

Click the Alignment tab and adjust how the labels appear.

Indicate the new orientation by clicking the desired vertical alignment in the Vertical Alignment drop-downward list box and desired text direction in the Text Management drop-downwards list.

Click Close.
