Spotify Testing Out A TikTok-Style Video Feed Of Their Own

Cheers to apps like TikTok, the company has kind of popularized the vertical video feed format. This is basically where videos are shown vertically and users can scroll down or upwards to discover new videos. E'er since its introduction, we've seen it practical to other apps who take launched similar short grade video features of their own.

It now looks like Spotify wants in on that activeness as well. According to a tweet past Chris Messina, he has discovered that Spotify is testing out a TikTok-style feed of their own for music videos. The concept is similar to what we've seen in other apps, where users can gyre down and up to view different videos.

The master difference here is that from what we can tell, it focuses primarily on music videos. Given that Spotify is a music streaming platform and less of a social media platform, information technology makes sense that the videos in this new "Observe" section of the app volition be about music videos and less about other types of random videos you lot might observe on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube.

This new characteristic could also tie-in with an existing Spotify feature chosen Canvas. For those unfamiliar, Canvass is a feature that lets Spotify artists create brusk videos for their songs. It launched in 2019 but it was met with mixed reviews. However, we imagine that combining it with this video feed format could permit users find new songs and new alternative music videos from their favorite artists.
